Tim left The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1989 and is currently working towards an MA in Scriptwriting at The Atrium, University of Glamorgan. He has been working as a composer, writer and workshop leader since 1990. He has written music for Gwent Theatre, Spectacle Theatre, Theatr Iolo, The Sherman Theatre and Black RAT Productions. Other composition work includes numerous plays on Radio Four including a new musical (Stars in Their Eyes) and incidental music for The Duchess of Malfi broadcast on Radio Three.

Tim spent a year as composer in residence at Welsh National Opera during which time he wrote several large scale community musicals/operas. Tim has worked on numerous youth productions including Musical Director for The National Youth Theatre of Wales. He has also been responsible for training the children’s choirs for the professional tour of Joseph and Whistle Down the Wind at The New Theatre.

Recently Tim has been sharing his time between teaching, examining for Performance Arts Awards and his writing and adapting work.  In 2008 London based Unexpected Opera toured Tim’s 1950s style adaptation of The Barber of Seville (now called The Barber of Savile Row). With the assistance of a grant from The Arts Council of England they subsequently toured his new version of Offenbach’s Orpheus In the Underworld (under the name Orpheus Down Under).

Currently Tim is writing a musical with well-known South Wales play write Frank Vickery. Another Bite of the Apple with the support of the Arts Council of Wales will shortly be workshopping the musical with a view to touring in 2013.

2013 will also see the completion of the first draft of  Tim’s new musical Half n Half – a light hearted look at life in an Indian Restaurant.

Tim is joint artistic director of The Stage Centre a performing arts school.
